About Dadfficient

Run Fatherhood Like a System.

Most “best of” lists are useless to dads.

They obsess over specs, features, and marketing hype. They rarely test for the three things that actually matter to us: Friction, Reliability, and Household Peace.

Who is Nigel Harry?

I’m Nigel. I’m a dad of two and I work in construction for a living. On the job site, I build things meant to last and rely on systems that do not fail. When I became a dad, I realized the baby gear industry is full of over-engineered garbage that breaks when you need it most.

I was tired of buying “top-rated” gear that turned into a weekend project. I bought the smart locks that disconnected at 2 AM. I bought the strollers that required a PhD to fold. I wasted time troubleshooting tech when I should have been spending time with my kids. So, I started testing it myself.

The “Operator First” Philosophy

I am not a traditional tech reviewer. I am an Operator.

To me, a product isn’t “good” because it has 50 features. It is good if I can set it up in 10 minutes, forget about it forever, and it just works. If a device requires me to reboot it weekly, it fails. If the app confuses my wife or the babysitter, it fails. If it requires a subscription to do something basic, I will call it out.

Field Reports & Tactical Guides

Our research focuses on zero-risk nursery optimization and equipment reliability. Start with our master system, or dive into specific tactical reports:

How I Test (The Dad Test)

I run every piece of gear through the Dad Test before I recommend it. I score based on reality, not the manual:

  • Install Headache: Can I set this up while holding a toddler?
  • Reliability: Does it work 100% of the time, or does it flake out?
  • Time-Back Factor: Does this save me hours, or cost me hours?

My promise is simple: I will give you the shortest path to the right decision. I will tell you exactly what to buy, what to skip, and the one setting you need to change immediately to avoid a headache.
